Here you can choose whether to show the splashscreen on every startup or not. The button
Look&Fell-Change allows to change the visual appearance of all dialogs and controlelements.
A click on the change-button initially shows the color-exchanger (see Picture
7.2). The dialog shows the currently set colors and allows to edit them. You can choose
among one of the predefined color patterns or create a new one. You can simply choose a
pattern and then edit the single colors. The chosen theme then automatically changes to a

If you like to apply the pattern to the application simply click the Apply-button to preview the look or OK to save the changes and continue working with wlandscape. For example Picture 7.3 shows the so called wlandscape-pattern applied to the program.

Picture 7.3: Color Pattern Applied
There is an automatic check whether the custom defined colors show a sufficient contrast. If they do not a message appears that these colors can not be applied. For example if the text-color equals the background-color this message will appear. This function avoids showing the application in a way that control-elements - such as buttons - are not visible due to their color being the same as their background (see Picture 7.4).

Picture 7.4: Error, No Sufficient Contrast
Another way to customize the look is the Theme-option. The dialog changes to the one in Picture 7.5. If there are themes in the wlandscape/usr/themes-directory already they will list here. The themes have to be skinlf-compliant. A good place to download themes from is for example: http://javootoo.l2fprod.com/plaf/skinlf/index.php . Just download the .zip-files to your theme-directory to make them accessible.

Picture 7.5: Dialog to Select Themes
There is also a way to use GTK/KDE-theme-combinations. These however require a
certain directory-structure in order to be found by the application:
1.) GTK-Part in: ..\themename\gtk\gtkrc and
KDE-Part in: ..\themename\kde\kde.themerc
2.) GTK-Part in: ..\[themename]gtkrc
KDE-Part in: ..\[themename].themerc
The here described theme-names of pairwise associated themes have to be the same. If they
differ from each other the parts will be treated like separate themes.
The search will in every case start upon the chosen directory. If you select the GTK/KDEtype,
the search will be recursively. Depending on the directory and its sub-directories this
can take some time.
There are a lot of themes available. For example the aquathemepack makes wlandscape look like in Macintosh® OS X. This could look like in Picture 7.6.

Picture 7.6: Aqua-Themepack Applied
Notice that after you applied a theme a restart of the application is recommended. Otherwise an incorrect representation of wlandscape may occur.
