What is the Protocol-Function and why do I need it?
The protocol (also called log-function) provides an easy way to view all tasks been made
and their result. The advanced-log additionally provides clearer information on the
program-calls. In some cases it also reports a few solutions for occurred problems. If you
find a bug in wlandscape we will please you to view the advanced log and tell us about the
steps you did before the error happened. See the contacts in the next chapter to report
errors.
Why is there is no GPS-Detection possible for my GPS-receiver?
If you have a GPS-receiver and it was connected to the computer after wlandscape has
started you will have to restart wlandscape. Check if your USB-GPS-driver provides a
virtual Com-port. If it does not please reinstall the driver.
If the GPS-detection performs unusually fast until the not detected-message appears your
installation of wlandscape could be faulty. Go to the GPS-category in the options and look
to the available GPS-ports. If there are the ports Com1 to Com4 although these ports are
not in your system the javax.comm.properties-file is located in the wrong directory. It
should be copied to your jre\lib-directory in order to work properly.
A few maps of my mapset can't be displayed. What is wrong?
Probably the mapset is not complete. Do a map-reload in the Open-dialog of the mapset.
Do not select to renew already existing mapimages. The mapset will then check itself and
reload missing mapimages.
Why is the displaying map not centered when I search by address or
coordinates?
This will necessarily happen when you are tracking with a GPS-device. If you searched by
an address or by coordinates your caching-options would have been set to looking in
loaded mapset. You can deselect this option but this will cause more maps to load from the
wlandscape-server.
Why can't I search for coordinates or addresses all over the world ?
Wlandscape uses map-services that do not necessarily cover the whole world. For the
moment you can look for maps in Europe and the United States. If we find more mapservices
for free we will implement them to the application.
Wlandscape says that there is no internet-connection but there is. I also can't
load maps. What's wrong?
This error is probably because of a running firewall on your system or gateway. You have
to allow java.exe-services in order to allow wlandscape the access to the internet.

If you like to join our developer team you can contact us. It would be nice if you will write
a few lines about your abilities, suggestions and how you will be able to help us. We will
